Extended Stay America - Columbus - Polaris

Wow, I'm so glad that I did not read the reviews before we stayed there. We had no issues with our room at all. In fact we were very happy with it. It looks like the bathroom may have been recently redone... Everything in the room was very comfortable and clean. It would have been nice to have dish towels, and possibly some paper towel in the kitchen area. We travel with our dogs, so it was very convenient to have their pet area right outside the door. With the clean up station. Only issue was, the clean up station was full, and they were out of bags. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a budget hotel, You get what you pay for. The rooms are very basic, what is provided is the least they can. The hotel is clean and the staff were mostly really friendly and helpful. The free breakfast consists of some cereal bar options and pretty awful coffee. If you ask you get some plates/ saucepans but they did not have any coffee makers. The fan in the bathroom was not working. My main reason for not recommending it is their failure to follow posted policies. According to the website and to the policy posted in a frame by the reservations desk- late check out fees are $10 per hour from 11am to 4pm; after 4pm a full days room and tax would be assessed. I checked out at 2:30pm assuming- as per posted policies that I would be charged an additional $40. I was charged $225.87 for the extra 3.5 hrs. $221.34 + taxes. Be aware that unfortunately they will charge any additional fee they can and ignore their own policies when given an opportunity.

Stayed for 2 days. The rooms were OK. They could probably use an update, but we're still ok for the price. A couple of things I needed to report, like broken sprinkler head and a plug cover, were broke. Showers and toilets worked fine. The bed was good. The only concern I had was that somebody parked in the fire lane that led to the back door. I'm glad there weren't any fires. The best part was customer service. Thank you

I must share my wonderful experience at this Extended Stay in the Polaris area of Columbus Ohio. The day I checked in I was worried that I would not be able to go smell the room before I paid. I am severely allergic to nicotine. Nicotine is a by product of the cigarettes smoke. I carry epi pens because I go into anaphylactic shock and end up in the hospital emergency room. Alysia was at the front desk and greeted me with a warm friendly smile. I let her know of my condition and asked if I could smell the room before I paid. She let me know that the hotel is non smoking but some of the guests still break the rules and smoke in the rooms. And, that there would be some areas that would smell like smoke. She let me smell each of the rooms available until I finally came upon one that didn't smell of smoke. I am so greatful to Alisia for this accommodation due to my health. I am now comfortably staying for a month. When I leave my room I cover my mouth and nose because the rooms across from mine put out smoke smell. The hotel staff are wonderful and keep the place spotless. The whole place is very clean. No bugs of any kind. I heart the staff telling incoming guests that hey are not allowed to smoke in the rooms. There is no way the staff can control all the bad inconsiderate guests. The staff do their very best to make this hotel a home.

Ridiculous.. that's my word for this place. We booked a handicap room mainly because my father has a difficult time walking and standing because he was hit by a car. I as well have a hard time getting a around some days. My father did not get to shower because the shower chair was stuck to the floor outside the shower. There was plenty of water AND MOLD UNDER the flooring, (which triggered my COPD) where it came up. The office chair is also a hazard, it rolls much to easy and when I went to sit on it I fell to the floor. My tailbone still hurts from this. I attempted to tell the lady about the office chair when I checked out but she was much too busy on the phone and the second lady was MIA, this is the same as other times I stopped there With the exception of one time when I went to complain about the shower chair. Which she was going to have checked when I got back from my Dr.'s appointment but no one ever did. The night we checked in I went to the store for food to cook, the young lady that took the provisions ( because there was absolutely nothing in our room) down to our room did not give my father time to get to the door. Here's a clue if you're at a door to mobility challenged person you either give them a little longer to get to the door or call ahead! Good customer service would offer some sort of refund or something. I doubt this place will do anything, but here's my review and warning for those who consider.
